At the top of the market the rate, the specification and the community rulebook all move together. We fix the finish level in writing first, so every firm prices the same home.
Luxury interior design in Dubai: what does it cost?
Luxury interior design in Dubai is priced by the square foot more often than by the job, and the published rates stretch further here than anywhere else in the market: from a few hundred dirhams to past two thousand. We keep the top-tier figures that firms publish on their own sites, read in September 2026, with the name beside each one.
How much does luxury interior design cost in Dubai?
Algedra publishes high-end and luxury fit-out at AED 680 to 1,400 and more per square foot, and Google's AI Overview puts luxury turnkey work at AED 500 to 800 per square foot, with the fullest projects passing AED 1,200 to 2,000. As a total, Ray Fitout publishes AED 600,000 to 2,000,000 and above for a luxury turnkey villa. The design fee may come on top: 10 to 20 percent of the project, or a flat AED 20,000 to 150,000. Our complete fee list has the sources.
Which luxury rates do Dubai firms publish?
The rows below are the top tiers only. They mix rates and totals because the market does, so the unit sits in every row.

Couture Luxury Interior Design
Top-tier interior rates and totals published by UAE firms, read September 2026
Two checks help with a table this wide. Algedra's own total for a 5,000 square foot villa works out at AED 500 to 1,200 per square foot, inside the span of its published rates, so the firm's numbers hang together. And Couture's rate card prices the design alone: AED 120 per square metre on the largest villas, with the build added on top of it.
Three things drift between proposals at this level. The unit: Couture publishes per square metre and Algedra per square foot, and one square metre is 10.76 square feet. The boundary: some totals include the design fee, furniture and styling, others stop at the fit-out. The specification: a line that reads imported marble can mean two stones at very different prices. We ask each firm for the same schedule, with named materials and quantities, so the totals line up.
Rate and area together. A rate per square foot means nothing without the area it is applied to.
Design fee on its own line. On a AED 1,000,000 villa, 10 to 20 percent is AED 100,000 to 200,000.
Named products. Stone, lighting, sanitaryware and joinery hardware by maker and model, not by grade.
Furniture and styling. Marked inside or outside the total, item by item.
Luxury interior design in Dubai's most tightly ruled communities
Much of the luxury stock sits in communities whose developers publish their own rules, and those rules reach the interior and the programme.

Tasareeh villa modification fees about AED 5,900

Palm Jumeirah's fees are the open question: Nakheel's 2023 villa design codes, withdrawn when the community passed to Dubai Holding Community Management, asked AED 1,000 plus VAT for a modification, a refundable AED 10,000 deposit and three working days for the NOC, while the 2026 Dubai Holding rulebook gives no amount for either payment and only a reasonable period, so confirm all three with the community office. The Emirates Hills gap is Emaar's own: its factsheet excludes Emirates Hills, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Hills plots from the standard service without naming the alternative, so we establish the route before a design is commissioned there. On Saadiyat, permits for plots in Tasareeh's scope go through Aldar's delegated reviewer, and a single-villa modification carries about AED 5,900 in its published fees. The hub's Nakheel NOC guide has the full chain, and our Abu Dhabi page covers the capital.
How do you choose a luxury interior design company in Dubai?
Start with the register, not the portfolio. Dubai Municipality lets anyone search its approved consultants and contractors in the Dubai BPS app or on its corporate practice permit portal, and the activity on a firm's registration shows what it may build. Then ask for the rate card: of the firms on our fee page, only Couture publishes a full one, and a firm that puts its method and its figure in writing before the first meeting is easier to hold to a budget. Last, ask who files the approvals. On Palm Jumeirah, ask the community office whether a site deposit still applies, since Nakheel's 2023 codes required one, and have the proposal say who pays it.
Concept, drawings, a named materials schedule and site visits, priced as 10 to 20 percent of the project or as a flat fee from AED 20,000 (AI Designs).
What does a luxury interior fit-out cost per square foot in Dubai?
Published luxury rates start around AED 500 per square foot for turnkey work in Google's AI Overview and at AED 680 in Algedra's high-end band, and pass AED 1,400 on Algedra's scale and AED 2,000 at the upper end of the overview. Ask whether a rate covers design, fit-out, furniture or all three before you compare it with another.
Is the design fee included in a luxury turnkey price?
Sometimes. Turnkey means one firm hands over a finished, furnished space, but the proposal decides whether the design fee is inside the total or added to it. On a AED 1,000,000 villa, a 10 to 20 percent fee is AED 100,000 to 200,000, so ask for it on its own line.
Who approves a luxury renovation on Palm Jumeirah?
Nakheel first, then Trakhees. Nakheel's 2023 villa design codes set the chain: a Nakheel NOC, a Trakhees modification permit, then a site access NOC, against a refundable deposit the contractor lodged. Those codes freed internal paint, wallpaper and decoration, and new cabinets, wardrobes and furniture, from the NOC, and Dubai Holding's FAQ still keeps internal painting and like-for-like replacement permit-free; a gate pass is still required.
Can an Emirates Hills villa go through Emaar's modification portal?
Not according to Emaar. Its home modifications factsheet states that the service covers all Emaar communities except Burj Khalifa, Emirates Hills and Dubai Hills plots, and it does not publish the route that applies instead. We confirm the approval path with the community before a design is commissioned.
Do luxury designers handle the developer approvals?
They should say so in the proposal. On Palm Jumeirah the chain runs through a Nakheel NOC and a Trakhees modification permit, and in Tilal Al Ghaf the owner gives 48 hours' written notice, names the contractors and obtains a work permit before anything starts. Ask which of those steps the firm files and which fall to you.
Why do Saadiyat renovations lose working hours?
Because the Owners Union sets them. Aldar's handbooks for Saadiyat Beach Villas and Residences stop noisy work at 6:00 PM, while most other Aldar communities, Mamsha on the same island included, allow it until 8:00 PM. On a long luxury fit-out that is two hours a day, so the programme should be written around it.
